I'm in the process of restoring a limestone townhouse I own in Brooklyn, NY. A beam supporting the limestone, windows and flooring on 3 floors have dropped so I need to do exterior repairs to the limestone and roof then the windows and floors. My problem is that I have a tennant who does not want to move and has called every city department to stop any work. The exterior and interior work will affect the hability of her appartment (permits already granted). Can anyone advise me as to what case I legally have to gain possession. Is it a L&T case or building department order to vacate?
Does she sign a lease with you for a specified period of time or is she month to month?
