Somehow, this is not much worse than being rejected because you are black/white/asian but they did not tell you the exact reason and instead make up another excuse for rejecting you. So do you prefer an honest rejection or a rejection plus being lied to?
Human racial discrimination will exist as long as they all still live on the earth, whether it is open or discrete.
Sounds like a he said, she said incident. Who to believe? That used to be that German bakery back in the day.
Well apparently the city believes the candidate because they fined the bakery $25K. It sounds like the wife was a little naive in all this and I picture the husband being an Archie Bunker type.
If I'm a business owner, I want diversity in all my staffing positions. You want to make all potential customers feel welcomed and really, you don't want the type of people that don't like being attended to by people of different skin color. I mean seriously??
It's hard for me to believe the bakery owner would said that to her right out like that. I thought people
now a days are so PC that they will makeup other reasons to not hire her even if they are racist.
But it's despicable if the owners really said those hurtful things to this woman and they deserve the
backlash for being racist and dumb at the same time.
