Wow that's allot of cash in hand just sitting around.
This is one of the reasons the only debit card I carry with me does not have a savings account linked to it to disable overdraft protection and I only transfer money into that account to cover the bills for that month.
All my other debit cards linked to my other checking accounts are at home in a lock box. so no one can have instant access to my cash and I just use credit cards where if something line this happens I can dispute it before the transactions post. Debit cards...….once they swipe it or punch those numbers in, that money is instantly deducted.
Yes but how for that much money? I always have to show my DL. Is she picking people who she vaguely resembles or just getting really dumb tellers?
Not with that cheap a$$ blonde wig!
Nice that these crimes happened back in January and February, but the NYPD is just *now* reaching out to the public for assistance. This female likely long has left NYC and or can afford to lay low.
Chick got $13k in cash, plus whatever she can make of reselling goods purchased with stolen credit cards.
Again, from linked OP:
" The woman's cards were used to withdraw $4,000 at a TD Bank on East 96th Street and Third Avenue and $1,700 from a TD Bank located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, police said.
In march, another woman's stolen belongings were used to withdraw $7,300 from a Chase Bank in Forest Hills, Queens, police said."
You aren't getting that kind of money from an ATM, not in one shot anyway. This female had to go into a branch and see a teller at least.

Right. So really gullible tellers. She’s long gone.

Totally left out money that can be made from selling off stolen ID.
NYPD cracks me up with these several months after the fact reaching out to the public service messages.
It means "we've run out of leads and or aren't getting anywhere so....".
Tellers today are a mixed bag. Most are over gloried retail clerks who are too poorly paid for their job. This especially what one must go through to be employed by a federally chartered bank (background check, fingerprinting, etc...).

Now that's a good point but I still don't get how you can withdraw thousands of dollars without showing ID AND/OR showing ID that in no way looks like you. I had to do a $1000 cashier's check recently and she asked me for my ID. I would make a lousy criminal I guess.

Happens all the time, and ironically TD Bank is often mentioned.
