Racial Tension has grown to extreme heights since last year that some New Yorkers have begun to fear for their lives. Many people have come to believe that the only way this problem of racial tension can be fixed is through protesting and forcing change. However, they are wrong, this issue can be fixed in a different nonviolent way that will bring the same results except less consequences. The Presidential Elections are coming up and some people have begun to decide who they might be voting for. What I'm asking you to do is to not vote for a Democrat or a Republican. These two Parties have ruled our nation for 300 years and have caused nothing but trouble since America became independent. We should not limit our choices to these but instead vote for someone new. We should given the smaller, unheard of, Third Parties a chance in the upcoming elections. We must get rid of the Democrats and Republicans, We must elect some new to run our beloved country. This is not our fault, this is the fault of the people who have been in the White House for 300 years.

I don't know if you are into history much, but just about every civil right that was previously denied various minorities was gained *only* through protests. Societies generally don't establish equal rights for people simply because they politely ask for them. Also, a protest doesn't necessarily equal a riot. There are even different types of "riots". What happened in Baltimore was largely looting.

Not for nothing but America needs a 2nd revolution or descent into all out civil war. Rebels must size the economic seat of power in NYC and take control of federal command structure of DC. Doing this America will be no more. I'm sure Vladimir Putin agrees me. Liberals along with conservatives eroded this country from the top to the bottom.

Actually what you are witnessing is the biggest drawback to our modern democracy. When the country is so divided, government is paralyzed and nothing gets fixed. It's unlikely we can vote our way out of this. What we really need is a benevolent dictatorship where a central authority can come up with a plan, stick with it and have people go along with it. However, dictatorships are rarely benevolent since there are no checks on such a leader when he does go bad.

Perhaps ultimately the country will have to be divided. You cannot have any success as a whole nation when one segment actively cheers on the downfall and destruction of another.

Protests hurts middle class. People can't go to work and store owners go bankrupt. Police will get over-time and increases taxes on those cities and towns.

What protest or riot has made any difference ever. The occupy Wall Street is the biggest joke of recent protests.

You're right, but the middle class aren't the ones protesting. They're the ones getting their small businesses burned down.

The civil rights protests in the 1960's ended segregation and there is far less racial discrimination as a result. Back then it was common to openly deny someone a job based on their race--or make them drink at a separate water fountain--or deny service in a restaurant. We have a ways to go based upon recent circumstances obviously--but a lot was gained.

Women have a right to vote because activists held protests and events to raise awareness and support.

The list goes on--and not just in this country but many others. Protests work--and are very often necessary when an elite few try to cut off the dialogue.

Absolutely! We are no longer remotely even close to the nation our Constitution was supposed to have created. If these recent protestors were right about one thing, it's that the United States needs a purge. Soon.

I'm sure Obama, DeBlasio and others of their ilk cheer posts like this. When the hour comes, it will be a revolution of patriots coming to take the country back to it's Constitutional roots. The Progressive horde has slowly but surely disarmed and sissified themselves into a force to be laughed at. When the shooting starts, it won't be the reliable idiots of the democrat voting bloc left to change this nation for the better.
