GPS frustrates me, I know you can deviate from the route and most will reprogram..so my question

Can you get to Carroll Gardens Bklyn from North Jersey without going through lower Manhattan which is the way my GPS wants to take me.

GWB to I-95 to I-87 to I-278
Bayonne Bridge to I-278 (lovely views of the ever present traffic on the SIE)
GWB to WSH to Hugh Carey Tunnel to I-278

I know you said without going through lower Manhattan but, depending on the time, the WSH isn't all that bad in comparison to the other routes.

Is your GPS trying to send you through one of the tunnels (Holland/Lincoln), down the west side, then to the Brooklyn Bridge?

Going through the city can seem daunting but depending on the time of day, that ride can be much less stressful than going through Staten Island.

Yes exactly, didn't have too much of choice when son and DIL lived in Bed Sty...hated that route, was hoping now that they are in Carroll Gardens the route would be easier. It would be on weekends only
