I received a Queens County jury summons and am currently on telephone standby for duty. However, I served (went in and was not selected) for Federal Jury duty just 4 years ago. Shouldn't I be exempt from all duty for another 2 years, or am I mistaken?

I have tried calling all numbers on this form, but they only lead to automated messages.

Henna, thanks for the link. I saw that earlier, and it would indicate that I'm exempt for another two years. Now, I just need to dig up that jury duty proof of service letter. I requested they fax it over, but I'm not optimistic that they will do that. The person who answered the phone sounded like my request was a burden upon her existence.

Count your blessings. In my small town in California it's possible to be called EVERY YEAR.

Every two years here in AZ and since I completed Jury duty July 2013 it should not have come as a surprise to get a summons in today's mail. Tried to ruin my day.

NJ was SUCH a pain in the ass...they got you the first day you became re-eligible.

With NY I ignored the first two requests for info...they had my address wrong, so I had plausible deniability.

Then they GOT the right address and I filled it out properly. I just hope that there is an age exemption and better yet that they see it on the form rather than having me go down and BEG off. (Fingers crossed...it has been nearly a year since I sent in the questionnaire.

I really have no interest in wasting my time for $40 a day. Besides, I think the system is criminal and I don't want to participate. (They don't call it the CRIMINAL justice system for nothing.)
