Not really a rant. Just posted them to give people an idea what is going on in Flushing in case they have never been there or have not been there in a while. I lived there years ago & a recent visit there shocked me when we saw all the changes that have happened over the years. We have heard about it & seen pictures from friends & family over the years that still live in the area. But seeing it firsthand was very eye opening recently.

But honestly if nothing was done & this building was not taking place the area probably would be left to rot & be a blight. So I am not against the growth at all. But like anything...within reason!

The city is very happy to get the real estate and other transfer taxes from this.

In fact Asian developers are building and building lots of new buildings in Jamaica, Queens. The city is very happy to have growth in Flushing and Jamaica.

The city is also a corrupt institution, therefore they are glad to allow developers to build....it's the unscrupulous home owners that break the law by exploiting the system and rent out illegal apartments/SRO's.............they don't care how their actions diminish the quality of life for the neighbors who have been living there for years, paying their taxes, manicuring their lawn etc....they just want the ole mighty '"Dalla"
