It is on the horizon, there have been several 4 family buildings that have been purchased, fully renovated, then rented for 1800-2200 for the single bedroom apartments. Those buildings even 2 years ago would have sold for the 750-850k range are now in the 1.1-1.3 million dollar range due to real estate developers/investors.

Will it be Williamsburg? no, but the rents are moving in a direction that are not really accepting of the immigrant service/tradesmen working family that has typically resided in the neighborhood.

I'm pretty sure Corona is safe enough to commute through

And as for that slashing in Ridgewood you mentioned, that was an isolated incident and probably hyped up by right wing news sources to make it look like whites are being victimized

No, it was a hate crime from a stupid hispanic. I'm paraphrasing here but I think his words were something like "I'll kill you cracker". This isn't isolated to just one group. There have been cases where a stupid white guy will attack a black or hispanic or a stupid black guy will attack a white or hispanic. If we're going to call it one way for one side, you have to do it for all sides.

No I'm definitely not condoning it if that's what he did, I just wouldn't want people to think these types of attacks are commonplace

It is a neighborhood with almost 100,000 people. As large as some small cities. Things are bound to happen with that size of a population. It is an outlier event.

Ridgewood is absolutely a safe place. I actually miss living over that way. Very residential and chill.

The zip code 11385, which covers both Ridgewood and Glendale, has a population just under 100,000. Glendale has around 30,000-35,000 residents, which means Ridgewood has the rest. 11237 is Bushwick.

Ridgewood has a large population, but definitely not as much as say, Elmhurst or Jackson Heights.
