Parts of the M train will be shut down for complete replacement in 2017. They want to have everything going well as they will have to have more runs on the M train to make up for the L train shutdown for 18 months.

Before the L train shutdown, the M gets its day; weekend work for 13 subway lines - Second Ave. Sagas :: Second Ave. Sagas

So the next few years in Brooklyn will be very interesting. M shutdown 2017, L shutdown beginning in 2018.

Or just shifts in Brooklyn. The A and C trains, and 3 trains will be running just fine. Maybe East New York gentrification speeds up.

During the first part, for two months, the MTA will repair a metal bridge between the Fresh Pond Rd and Middle Village-Metropolitan Av stations.

Oh, oh...there goes my trip to BJ's (Middle Village, last stop on the M)

The M train shutdown is actually in Queens, not Brooklyn. In the long run, fixing up both the M and L lines are positives. At this rate, the A/C line is probably up next for repairs.

It is in Southern Queens near Brooklyn. Some years ago I lived near the Fresh Pond Road Station and there were always problems with the M train service even then.

There are a ton of buses around Wyckoff Ave. and Forest Ave. They may increase the service of a few of those routes to accommodate for this, but still.

With all the slashings and stabbings going on in the trains, this might actually be doing Ridgewood residents a favor.

There's always the Q58, which starts its route on Myrtle/Wyckoff.
