He grew up in a poor family in Brooklyn in a rent-controlled apartment. That's part of why he is a man of compassion, integrity and ambition and why he is fighting so hard for an economy and government that works for all people, not just those at the top.

Here we can see where:

While not exactly thrilled with either Trump or Sanders their rise does show at least one good thing; the old school political party machines for both parties is losing their grip. The fact Sanders is able to raise forty million or so just within the past week tells something. Even if the guy loses he still has won in that his campaign has forced the Clinton woman more to the left than she probably wanted.

Politicians rubbishing their campaign manifestos after being elected is nothing new. But *if* the Clinton woman wins her failure to keep promises made to the left can and likely will be her downfall. Those supporting Sanders in part have "been there and done that" with Obama and felt he didn't do enough for them, hence so many young persons coming out in support of Sanders.

I agree, and my thoughts are also similar. I have to say that Trump and Sanders shook things up a bit for the establishment. This is also nothing new. A century ago people elected populists politicians regularly instead of electing those from establishment connections. Looking at Western politics, Latin American politicians are becoming centrists, instead of being either far right and or far left self proclaimed dictators, or military juntas. European politics are differ, years of centrists liberal socialist is coming to an end thanks to EU debt crisis and immigration crisis. Europeans are either going far left or far right. The 2008 economic recession, mounting debts, immigration, growing inequality, gentrification, politicians who act like business men and business men who act like politicians left a sour taste amongst people. More Americans are slowly joining populists movements. You see Republican and liberal democratic establishment are the same coin. Both work together on wall street and on capitol hill, and control tech and media. Americans are deeply angered and feel cheated. Also politicians sold their voters pocket in favor of wall St. Bernie and Trump shook the foundations of the establishment control.
