To the OP - the public have been abusing and misusing Emergency Rooms for years with non-emergency nonsense- the urgent care centers take off the heat and let people with actual emergencies get seen sooner at the ER.

Funny, I wouldn't have chosen to use the word "abusing." But, yes, when doctors became so expensive that people no longer made a point of having GPs, they went to ERs. That's partly my point, that urgent care options seemed to evolve because of the lapses in the existing system.
