Better chance of getting struck by lightning. NYC is probably the most difficult place (Maybe Chicago too?) in all of the US to get a concealed carry permit.

NYC makes it a very expensive, long and difficult process for a regular Joe to get a carry permit, on purpose.

Unless you own a business where you carry large amounts of money on your person, in law enforcement, or fit other very specific categories, you will not get one.

You'll do the significant paperwork, pay the significant fees, likely have to hire a third party expediter to try to get it through, and you'll get turned down necessary.

Its impossible, NYC is not a CARRY STATE, unless you are Businessman (Like Jeweler), retired officer, active.
But you can get a Restricted Gun Permit for home premises ONLY though...pretty much if you have clean background ,your good.
YOu can't take it outside your home.

Due to NYC's contempt for the Constitutional of this land, it won't happen.

As others have written, nearly impossible unless you're very wealthy or famous. Having written that, carrying a concealed weapon in NYC should become a lot easier if (and we should be able to now with Trump in office) either pass the national concealed carry reciprocity act or just have the 2nd Amended expanded via the Supreme Court. But don't look for overnight changes, though.

Probably more difficult than finding a dirty one off the streets.

as long as you have a clean record it is easy to get a residence/target/hunting permit in nyc . in more than 20 years involvement with the shooting sports i never knew a single person denied who had no blemishes .

we hear about the supposed applicants rejected for various reasons but odds are they just were not truthful and had reason for rejection ..

the process is taking a lot longer today . there are more approvals needed up and down the department chain since the licensing scandal . my renewal came 2 weeks after my permit expired and i sent it in 7 weeks before .

reason given : more signatures needed in the process
