Just got a letter from RELATED. They are opening a waiting list for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments in THE STRATHMORE, a large luxury tower at 84th and First Avenue (Manhattan.) Washer/Dryer in every apartment...looks like all aprtments have terraces.
Froim the outside the place looks gorgeous.
It's pretty low income. $21,285 to $27,520 for the 1 bedrooms, rent is $595.
Postmark the application by May 31, 2014...but they will only open the first 1200.
Remember when that building was going up. It caused such fury among some local residents they pestered the City to change zoning so no further towers of that height could go up in the area.
If the list is opening up that could mean some of the original "80/20"/RS tenants have moved out or perhaps no longer qualify.
Since the building is not new and nothing has been added again can only assume vacancies have or are planning to occur. On the market rate side that building has had a "luxury apartments for rent" sign out front for at least a year or longer. Then again so do many other high rise apartment buildings on the UES and in Yorkville.
That part of First Avenue is very nice. Lots of things to do both on the avenue and also going east or west. Once the SAS opens you are only two blocks up and one away from the 86th Street stop.
Im going to take another look at it and see. If so, Im just going to pass it on.
I actually went to an interview mannnyy years ago for a building on 96 street and 2nd avenue, big building right in the corner. for a studio apt, the lady in the interview was a huge B*****, and my income was too high anyway, but she was horrible
