People now have to hike it up to East 86th, which means a very long walk from back of train, then doubling back once outside. Getting on means walking up to East 86th then if wanting to sit a front of train taking that same long walk.
The MTA is intentionally causing these issues I am starting to believe. It's political and disgusting.
Real sad thing is because of how SAS stations are designed without escalators the things are totally unusable.
Well not "totally" but the risk of cardiac events to those going climbing all those stairs to get up, and risks of many falling while walking down means the MTA isn't willing to play those odds.
Myself like many others do "walk" up and down those escalators, but others simply cannot, will not, and or should not.
Boo Hoo these people have a subway by them now, either walk a few extra blocks to the working entrance or have a big piece of shut the F-up pie! Seriously many ny-ers don't have a train walking distance to them at all.
