The list for the Deputy City Sheriff list is out. There are 2081 eligible candidate on the list. Did anyone else took the exam? Please share any info you have on this.

I took the test I just got my letter. I would like some information on this like requirements seem a little tricky to me. I don't have my baccalaureate degree like they say but the substitutes for it seems so tricky to me for some reason.. help?

Here is the part I need help with:

Full-time professional or paraprofessional experience in law
enforcement, civil enforcement, criminal justice, law, accounting, auditing, investigation, public
administration, business administration, or a closely related field;

I work for the city now (Traffic Enforcement) do you think that would be considered law/civil enforcement? I feel like it is but not sure.

No offense I mean this in the nicest way possible, but why would you file and pay for an exam if you aren't sure you meet the qualifications for the position? The NOE is the first thing one should examine thoroughly before continuing.

If you aren't a peace officer currently it looks like you're out of luck according to the NOE.

You would be surprise on how many people file for the exam without knowing they meet the qualification or not. I am not saying I did that, but sometime is the gray area where people are not sure whether they qualify or not, but still file for the exam anyway.

I took the exam. Exam states you must have qualifications by time appointed to the position. Might be a silly question but would that be after all screening/ tests completed. Specifically when are you appointed the position.

I'm pretty sure you just need the degree so yours will count. Also it's posted on here, the list is out of 2,081.

the 2,081 is just the number of candidates that passed the exam without including the one that who didn't pass. Assuming everyone who filed the exam took the exam and passed the exam, then 2,081 would be the right number for the total number of people took the exam. However, chance is that there might be few candidates who might not have passed the exam with at least 70% of correct answer, and those candidate who took the exam failed wouldn't be counted on the 2,081. Therefore, if you assume everyone passed the exam, then yes, 2,081 is the right number.
