Which beach is best in ny, and tri state area.

So far , i hit riis park, rockaway, jones beach and bay, sunkin meadows, and long beach.

But , which beach offers more, and why?

Within reasonable distance, I would say Smith Point (it has a nice privately run bar/restaurant that closes late). Second would be Robert Moses.

You can bbq at Riis. They have set grills there that you can use, or bring your own. Parking is $10 though.

(Following because I love the beach)

Depends on what you are looking for: easy/free parking, public transportation, food available for purchase, cleanliness and availability of public bathroom/shower, crowded/empty, etc

The people's beach at Jacob Riis is by far the best in my opinion, however it's really far for me so I always end up at orchard beach

Long Island is famous for its beaches.
If you are looking for something more touristics Hamptons is the right place.

parking is $10, plus the toll?

Is Riis park a state park? I do have the empire yearly pass.
