So, nope. I did not know that you could order fried chicken at your local Chinese take out.
Not every place offers it.

It's actually way easier to eat healthy now than it was several years ago. I only run into issues in the outer boroughs at times.

There's way less Chinese take-outs now compared to the 90s. By the way fried chicken goes very well with fried rice. It's terribly bad for you but hey you just need to use moderation.

They're all over the place still in Southeast Queens, and probably most other places in the outer boroughs. I can see them being less common in Manhattan and yuppie Brooklyn due to the rents being so high.

Lol black people dont make rib tips. Plus thats only 2 items and the typical restaurant has well over 100 things to order. I highly doubt those 2 items were influenced by black eople.

People curse the Chinese restaurants out, and they're back there next week ordering pork fried rice

They got utility bills to pay, so somebody is keeping them in business, amirite?

Ironically these Chinese restaurants aren't part of some conspiracy to feed lower-income people subgrade food.

The novelty of the Chinese restaurant started after WWII, when most of the "hoods" that you have in NYC today were formerly Jewish (Grand Concourse, Flatbush/East Flatbush, Far Rockaway).

They catered to the Jewish because they don't follow Christian holidays and stayed open all the time pretty much. The Jews left, and the Chinese stayed in the hood. Thats why the menu is not traditionally Chinese, those menus were originally catered towards the Jewish. Trust me, if black people lived in these hoods 60-70 years ago, all you would see is Chinese soul food spots instead.

Just giving a bit of history.
That history is interesting but I wonder if that's a more local phenomenon. Chinese takeout spots are everywhere and they have fairly similar menus even in the Midwest and south where there really aren't many Jewish people. Not fried chicken though. Even the Chinese take out spots in the suburbs (just outside NYC) that my family went to growing up did not have fried chicken.

Yea, it's only in NYC where I started seeing fried chicken on the menu.

You usually have to go to a place that specializes only in fried chicken (Bonchon Chicken, Mad for Chicken, Kyedong Fried Chicken) if you want some. I have yet to hear about any Chinese style fried chicken taking off in popularity or being known as a specialty that people specifically seek out.
Depends on the place, but all the Korean bars serve it here and in Seoul - and it's not to appeal to gringos it's the Koreans who ask for it. There's another good place in Queens, UFC (unidentified flying chickens)

Yeah but its not like you're getting drumsticks, legs and thighs

Just wings

You got black friends? Ever been to their house when they're serving fried chicken? We dont buy wings. We buy wingettes if anything and flip that into fried or buffalo.
