I definitely will, but they're aware this isn't a cleanliness issue. I've been calling about this since my first week moving in. I've only been here two months!
I'm a clean freak, and borderline germ phobe; which is why this is extra frustrating.
I know. I’m only saying to document that it’s a waterbug issue because if you don’t, your landlord or their attorney can always argue that roaches are an uncleanliness problem. But a waterbug infestation isn’t - it is a pipe-leak/ unpatched holes/brickrepointing problem. In other words nothing that the tenant or any exterminator can fix.

I hadn't really thought of that, but I'll make sure its documented. Plus I've been taking pics every time I find one. Found two dead ones this weekend, ugh.
I also asked one of my neighbors if they're having this issue and was told no. They do however have mice which I haven't had.

I dunno - in my last apartment, I had that issue a few months before I moved out. I was convinced I was going to have a mental breakdown and not for the life of me, could we figure out where they were coming from. Even now, if I'm sleeping and the wind blows, any noise at all, I stop breathing trying to decipher what I was hearing.

It's traumatizing! I cant go into any room without turning on the lights and looking around first. I'm afraid to open cabinets or grab anything without scoping everything out. This is no way to live.

It's not, been there. I can honestly say I would probably move. I'm sorry you are going through this.
After some research I figured that probably wasn't my best option. I called orkin and let them know the situation. I told them I can't afford to have someone coming out all the time, plus I shouldn't even have to considering I am renting an apt, so she quoted me for a one time visit ($350)
They explained someone would come out and do a thorough inspection and treat however needed. I guess I can then see how things go after that. I am going to call the landlord tomorrow and let them know I will be deducting this from the rent.
This situation can become nasty. You need to ensure that the landlord is on board with you *deducting* such fees. You make it sound as if you have the *green light to do this*. Am not sure that's the case. If the landlord wants to use his/her own company, then what? You'll be out $350+ dollars. Re-read your lease down to the letter to confirm what *is* and *isn't allowed* and make no assumptions, otherwise, you may be on the hook.
