It's sad that they have such shoddy construction on a new development. Maybe they did that because they knew the majority of people that would move in there would tear it down anyways. Sad truth! And I absolutely have to have the elevator working! lol i do tons of laundry at once and same goes for grocery shopping! lots of heavy stuff that needs to be lifted up in an elevator. That's too bad, it sounded promising but I won't lock myself into a lease paying top dollar for crappy building with crappy neighbors!

They definitely cut corners. Used to visit one of the computer rooms. They had pictures posted of *Apple* computers, yet none could be found. Instead they had cheaper versions of Dell computers, with stained carpeting. Lord knows what the stains were from. Had one guy who was a resident and he would come down to watch porn regularly. Mind you this was a *computer room for children* and the computers had no pornography filters on them! That should tell you all you need to know about management. The real kicker was they would also post notices by the elevator threatening to evict the *offenders* that were pissing in the elevator. One time apparently someone tried to stuff a couch either into the elevator or into another area. Was comical to read those notices while waiting for the terribly slow elevators.

Felt truly sorry for the decent residents that lived there. Used to see one Hispanic guy in the elevator who would just shake his head at some of the things going on there. It was him that commented that the place was essentially a newer housing project. This was over a year ago. Have been down there since. There are some other housing developments being built along 161st, but again the area has a long way to go.

I'm shaking my head reading your response. That is crazy! Yeah, definitely not the environment I want to expose my son to, the search continues for me!

I used to live over there in one of those buildings, but for the amount they are charging I would not pay that much for these apartments.

P.S. There is laundry on every floor and two elevators for each building. Only thing is they are slow or one will be out, so it will take a while to go up and down. The person I was visiting was on an upper floor. When in desperation to get to where I needed to go, would simply walk down, but not going up. One complaint seemed to be the machines not being hot enough and/or lack of washers, so still had some that would lug to the laundromat to wash anyway.

This is my point exactly! From the sounds of things, the building is not worth $1733/month for a 1 bedroom. I'll take my chance with the listings on StreetEasy or Trulia lol

Tragic! it the rent was dirt cheap, maybe it would be easier to cope with but for the rent they're charging that's unacceptable!

Mind you.. When these buildings went up and the applications for these buildings went up. I don't recall the rent prices being that high.. Maybe if the rent were alil lower then maybe. But like the above. Don't do it! Lol

Just not that part of the Bronx. Riverdale is worth it since is upper middle to upper class.
