sure, but i think a route along the Harlem river reaching green point and points on BK will be more effective.
the Harlem river is narrow but the circle line has no issue using it.

Washington heights-Harlem-Bronx to LGA could be a good route too. but that will imply going around randals isle.

I don't think it matters where it goes to be frank. The one thing I HATE about Inwood is it's so damn hilly and depending on where you live at, reaching the subway is quite the endeavor. Everyone talks about living West of Broadway but those damn hills are so ANNOYING. No one ever talks about how they navigate around them, but some of those streets are just insane, and it has to be a huge turn off after a while. It's not like there's a bus that cuts across or anything you're near Washington Heights. All of the buses run along Broadway. Then if the A goes down, you're stuck with the 1 train that goes local and is also located further east than the A is, so depending on where in Inwood you are, that makes it even more annoying.

true, they are annoying, and inwood needs more transit options, i think a ferry stop on the 207 street bridge will work, if it reaches points in the Bronx and Harlem on it way down. reaching the east side of Manhattan is hard from the heights as the 1 and the A both run west.

that route could make sense, and if reaches BK even better.

the problem with the west side is that the dyckman marina is kinda far.
