Oh, I didn't know you could link it to your library accounts.
Thanks for the website link. I have to check that out and it's other benefits.
One thing to keep in mind is that the roster of cultural institution benefits change every year and you can get those benefits for that year even if that wasn't the year you received your card.

Oh, nice to know. When I approached Queens Botanical Gardens regarding the free membership, they told me that offer has expired but I can still get discounts from their gift shop. I guess it depends on the institution.

Yea, they aren't on the list this year, but nearby Flushing Town Hall, Queens Museum, and Queens Theatre are.
Not sure if Queens Botanical Garden has a reciprocal members relationship that applies, but they might. You'll have to do some sleuthing.
It’s a garbage ID for illegals and legal young people who want to get into museums, etc for free for a year. *Delivers pizza to a military base. Shows NYC ID to security. Gets deported*

Yes. I used it to get into museums for free, and in the beginning you could get gym memberships for free for a couple of months or so.
And you can link your library cards to it.
Beyond that it serves no real purpose, and really isn't recognized by anyone.
What does that do for you? Library Card comes with a key fob. Who needs another ersatz "library card?"
Thanx for your opinions, guys.
