I drive for both Lyft/Uber and now a brand new rideshare startup in San Diego, called Bounce. I would say that location, time of day, the day of the week, and what ever events that are taking place during that time period affect how much money a typical driver earns.

I know for me, I have set a daily goal, being that driving for Uber/Lyft/Bounce are my side hustles.

My daily goal is to give at least 10 rides total on either Lyft/UberBounce combined, earning at least 70-100 a day. Each day is a hit and miss, meaning that on some days I can make $125 in less than 4 hours if I happen to get and take 4 rides in a row for about $30 per ride.

Then there are days where I get and take a lot of short rides where I barely earn $70 working 8-10 hours. On those less earnings days, there could be more drivers working, and I am thinking that's why I am not making more than $70.

I have known drivers who get up everyday at 4am. They have said that many early airport trips are request from burb areas in the early AM.

Also, since I live between Los Angeles and San Diego, working Friday and Saturday nights in either cities have resulted in some case me earning as much as $400 a night. But it really just depends on the location and again what events are taking place.
