Here they are in the East Bronx. I'm kind of embarrassed to say that I don't know what neighborhood this is considered-- it's off Allerton Avenue a little west of Eastchester Road. On google it's just above Pelham Gardens.
Here is an unfortunate combination of those newer townhouses with chrome fence and aluminum door awning detailed in chrome. All the stuff I hate most in one house! This is in Pelham Gardens.
And yeah, what the hell is the point of a window awning? Isn't the point of a window to let light in?
There's no point! Does East Flatbush also have those little concrete lions? Do you know what I'm talking about? I remember being in East New York years ago and seeing quite a few of those.
I actually saw an owner once (Dominican) in the process of putting those tiles on the outside of his house - covering up brick that I guess needed repointing.
A lot of the developers also have terrible designs and are poorly using NYC land bu I’m sure zoning plays a part.
Not really a big fan of those pencil thin new apartment buildings. Seen one on a vacant lot on Myrtle and here I’m thinking that this nice vacant land could be used to make a giant nice piece of development but nope there’s a silly pencil thin building sitting right in the middle of the land!
