Those who travel the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn can view a magnificent piece of land
that covers over 400 square acres and peaks at points of up to 130 ft above sea level.
Would you believe it is the old Fountain Hill/ Pennsylvania Landfill closed back in 1985.
With Global rising waters coastal communities are threatened to be annihilated in the near future.
The Army corp of Engineers have rebuilt New Orleans Sea Wall using Steel plates and concrete
for 14.5 billion dollars as the next flood system protection system.
I have an idea. How about using construction waste ( maybe as filler ) along the threatened coastline.
It will be ugly only at first, but it sure will cost a whole lot less. Crazy as the idea sounds why can't it work?
I would like to here from marine biologists how to avoid impact on ocean life, economists, architects
and from you who either agree or dismiss the idea of garbage as a way to shore up the coast line
neighborhoods and reduce the carbon footprint at the same time.
