these bike lanes are awful . they really screwed up northern blvd in douglaston /bayside . we have so many accidents . there was a piece on the news the other day where the bike lanes in lic reduced the traffic down from two lanes to one , wiped out 116 parking spots and you saw emergency vehicles stuck in a line of traffic trying to get through with no where for cars to go .

on 73rd ave you have parked cars now pretty much sitting in the street as their right side became a bike lane . so they moved parking into what was a traffic lane .
we rarely even see anyone use these lanes for bikes too .

Queens Residents: Bike Lanes are Bringing Traffic to a Halt

How many times I see people on a street with a bike that has a bike lane not to use it anyway...

Aside from bike lanes, they have done a ton of stupid crap with the roadways everywhere.

Absolute worst bike lanes are the ones on Queens Blvd in Rego Park and Forest Hills...there are just straight up unsafe.

They removed one whole side of parking spaces on the service road to make a bike lane, thereby causing a uptick in people double parking to drop off passengers or make deliveries. The service road is now so narrow with the bike lanes in place, that the only way to pass a double parked car is to enter the protected bike lane. Talk about unsafe....but people do it all the time because there is no other choice. Is this really worth it for the 2-3 people who bike down any given block one an hour?

im actually getting sick of all the freaking bike lanes all over the place.
drivers already have problem with so many obstacles already, no we have to watch out for these bike riders.

what makes me crazy is seeing a young woman with a helmut on and a baby in the back compartment of a bike riding down 3rd avenue in brooklyn, and i think to myself, what freaking kind of moron does this.
i know my sister would not do that. 3rd ave is a mega busy road with cars trucks and everything else you can imagine....and there goes miss bike rider with a baby.

i call these people 'organic" meaning they are not from here and are transplants and have not a clue....
