For whatever reasons local government can't help messing with SI's wetlands. Here is the latest project which has both good and bad elements IMHO.

Good is that wetlands out in that part of SI is being cleaned up and remediated so it can function as nature intended. Bad news is (of course) there is new RE development.

I passed by there the other day and my father almost crashed into the wall because he was staring at it. What apparatus they are using to do this work, it looks like an array of sensors for searching for alien life or something. Either that or one giant crab trap. It's weird looking.

Its a positive - the wetlands are being restored (at least the best humans can, hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate) yet it still reflects the fact that this area is part of a city - and will be used for business. The buildings going up are properly sewer connected and designed to minimize impacts beyond their intended use. Overall a decent compromise.

We'll see if the wildlife there for millennia then extinguished or degraded by careless human activity can return. Hopefully they will consider that with the lighting for outside the building - mis-directed artificial light screws up a lot of the functions of wetlands creatures and confuses them.
