Good observation.

Wow, for a bunch of New Yorkers I’m surprised at what a bunch of puzzies you are about some innocuous e-scooters!

When ridden correctly they are an awesome way to get around. I can see the weather argument for its winter limitations, but the infrastructure is well in place to accommodate them ridden at a speed equal to the average motor vehicle pace in the city.

My husband and I are 57 and ride them all over town here. It is certainly not anywhere as dense as NYC but it has dense urban traffic in the very core of dt. I learned to roller blade for the first time of my life in dt Manhattan during rush hour and survived- though I literally bumped right into Roy Scheider (a NYC moment if there ever was one) so I am aware of the city’s crowdedness. We’ve also got much more hills here that the e-scooters mostly easily can handle. We’ve gone to dinner parties 6 miles across town and had a blast doing so.

It is just but one more option for the complex urban transportation matrix in Gotham, you should give it a chance. And hold your ground on refusing them to ride on the sidewalks.
