She probably be happier if she charged more money. High end escorts make good money, and they living swell. Prostitution should be legal. But if you are not happy making such little money for something then you may as well change jobs.

If she unable to find another job, that is a separate issue, and not a knack on prostitution. If she is forced to work this job for such low reward is also a separate issue, and not a knack on prostitution.

Prostitution is like sales. If you cannot make money doing it, time to switch. Sales you can improve, but your sexual attraction you cannot. So if you not making enough money to keep yourself happy, then change.

The most heartbreaking part of the article is where she called home telling them about how she is being abused, but they tell her she has no choice and has to keep doing it. A lot of the time women in these situations are sending a good part of the money they earn back home to support her family. You have to wonder if the family really cares about them at all, they are just there meal ticket so they can live the good life while these women slave away for the family.
The prostitutes are low end, and I doubt they make $100/night. My company has a building, and one of the tenants was operating a brothel for a bit before we kicked them out. It was latina establishment. I guarantee they making more money even from chinese clientele.

And they only see a handful of clients per day. Cant have a line of people or too many people showing up at residential place.

Yes, it all gets put on a company card and no one bats an eye.

Allot of these Asian women put themselves in this position and cant get themselves out due to the choices. I know a few females of other races that went from stripping to sex worker to prison back to sex working and managed to get out of the life because they secured enough money to go to school or start their own business. Some sold their body now they own a laundromat, same with some who end up owning a hair saloon or wax/eyebrow threading place...… Maybe these women are just not good with money to turn their life around and go legit or they end up getting too much too soon so they get caught up in it.
But the women who work at these places are so ugly. You think midtown office workers have higher tastes. These prostitutes are even worse than the 80s early 90s and prior when prostitution was even more rampant.

NYT - this is not your forte. If you want what's actually going on in Flushing in real time just ask me.

When a cat meows or a dog takes a sh** in Flushing I'm the first to know.
LOL, there is actually a korean mob in Flushing.

Well, she was like 50 so...don't know how "marketable" she could be...
And the rest were not much younger.
I was struck by that fact alone. The age of these women. And that they still had customers!

Plus, money doesn't equate happiness. Wouldn't be surprised if some of these high-end escorts aren't that much happier. They may be. But wouldn't be surprised if they said that they weren't. Some porn stars make huge amounts of money and still end up killing themselves or overdosing or whatever.

But if you mean specifically in her case. If she made a lot more money, would that have made all the difference. Don't know...

Hey. Don't hate on the ho's from the late 80s early 90s. We spend our high school weekends chasing them on the West side. No crack heads...these chicks were super hot and came in every flavor/color.

The money is what draws them in. No way they can make what they make fresh off the boat in a legitimate job. They all figure they will bear it for a few years and get out once they save a nest egg.

Default Can the act of sex be sold as a commodity?

The issue is a complex one.

Sex can happened between 2 individuals without love not being a factor in the equation. 1 Night stands, drunken hook-ups, revenge/jealousy sex, etc. A lot industries use sex as a marketing tool so we have become desensitized to it. And Porn is now accessible 24/7/365 with all the genres imaginable. We no longer view sex as a special connection between two individuals. We are entering into the abyss of the Brave New World. The world of Tinder, Secret Arraignments, Sugar babies, realistic dolls, VR sex, etc.

Prostitution is not a new industry. It's been around since early human civilization. The reasons behind it: loneliness, machismo, boredom, etc.

The story of this lady was sad. I feel we need to develop courses on how to be humans, how to raise children, what to do if you are in a bad situation etc. This lady made some bad choices with good intentions in mind.

Legalizing prostitution is not going to solve anything. People treat each other like **** to begin with. We need to fix that mentality first.

If a man sees a prostitute he will be deemed a loser, weird, creep, potentially having a disease, etc.
If a man doesn't have a girlfriend/wife he is deemed a loser, weird, creep, a closeted gay, etc.
If a woman is a prostitute she will be deemed a *****, loser, potentially having a disease, etc.

Yes they are but never underestimate a horny guy in this day and age without craigslist or backpage to peruse.
