How is this area in terms of safety? I've been seeing some nice apartments lately. I would mainly just take the J/M to work and use the L train on the weekends when it's running, as most of my nightlife is spent in Brooklyn now. I'm a 26 year old middle class black male. We do have 1 female roommate that will be joining us, she just wondered if it will be safe.

Thanks!

It's kinda rough in that area, but like all areas, if you keep to yourself, no one will bother you. Best to stay away from Broadway at night.

It's not that bad. I think Bushwick Ave is relatively safe. Broadway can be active with people but honestly, people don't go out of their way to bother others. Just mind your business and you'll be fine.
