Wrong. Only people who are not accomplished and have no drive like socialism.

With Socialism, a few people on top take everyone's wealth and resources and redistribute them to the people on the bottom, while they "keep the change." For instance, Hugo Chavez's daughter is worth billions of dollars, while the rest of the Venezuelan people starve.

With Capitalism, yes, there are a few people on top with wealth, but that's because for the most part, they have worked hard and have come up with an idea that no one else has. Think Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Ken Howery - founder of PayPal, Pierre Omidyar - founder of ebay, Michael Dell, etc.

What everyone needs to understand, is that with capitalism, there is not one pie where someone takes a larger piece and you're stuck with the smaller piece. (That's socialism - where AOC's campaign manager will determine who gets what as an example). With capitalism, you can make your own damn pie. So technically, there are thousands of pies you can either share, or have on your own. You don't like that Donald Trump has a larger pie when it comes to the Trump organization? Well get movin' learn a skill and form your own business.

What kind of "little things" that indicate African ancestry do you see?
I don't think she has strong African features, but she looks different from a woman who is just European/native mixed like the singer Becky G for instance. Puerto Ricans are a mixed group and most of them have more African than native ancestry

Exactly. It seems as if ShoshanaRose has a hard time separating light skin with the idea that someone can be fair skinned and have White, Black and Indio in them.

[quote=kapikap;54883153]As a long time nyer, cant call it a black accent,as there is no such thing.

She was talking down to the crowd, sort of in a preaching manner, but she was fully pronouncing her words, and played to the crowd.

Why dont you all give up on this race stuff. She is a white Latina. Could have some Indian (native to country of orgin). Taino is a myth, basically no DNA left. PR peeps hold taino DNA if any.

Bottom line, she is American holding a seat. An open target for critics. Fortunately, she may not have all those bones in the closet, like the oldtimers.[/QUOTE

About 20 years ago I had colleague who felt "Indio" and who really wanted evidence of Taino heritage --- at that time the science was leaning towards the above conclusion --- essentially that Taino heritage was a myth --- that guy was pretty disappointed. Turns out the testing has advanced and significant heritage remains on the island.

This graphic below should make things clearer--- fascinating how the percentages vary according to regions.

I really don't get where you all feel she was trying to "talk black?" Maybe you all should check your own biases because if you think that's the way black people talk...
I agree with you. She was trying to mimic a southern accent because if it would have been a black one, she probably would speak Ebonics.

But the reason why people think it's a black accent, which it is clearly not, is because she was giving that speech to an almost all-black audience where the people are Al Sharpton supporters.
