Yes, our building allows for sublets so that's no problem. I just worry I won't get applicants if I offer my apartment for only 6 months rather than a year.
I think legal foreign workers working for foreign companies which have offices in NYC are sometimes looking for 6 month leases rather than full year ones.
A six month lease might appeal to a newcomer who wants to get a feel for the City and its diverse neighborhoods, and housing possibilities, before making more of a commitment.
especially if furnished ...it is a lot different then paying the costs of moving in 6 months when it is all your stuff .
