What are some of the better golf courses in and around NYC? Any idea of some that are both good and reasonably priced?

I am not a golfer but there are several golf courses in the 5 boroughs.

Van Cortlandt Park (Bronx), Dyker Heights (Bklyn), a few on Staten Island, Pelham aka Split Rock (Bronx), Forest Park (Queens). I have played the Pitch & Putt in Riis Park (Queens).

Are these golf courses crappy or are they nice? I'm looking for something well-maintained and fun to play. Oh, and ones that allow you to drink.

Have they made any progress with the Arnie Palmer golf course proposed for the Bronx Side of the Whitesone bridge?

Sorry Texags.... anything more than miniature golf is more than I can handle! Which is too bad, because I live in golf heaven.
