We have an election on Tuesday. For what?

Are their any candidates or offices up for grabs. All I can see are two questions, neither of which are Earth shattering.
Am I missing something?

I don't think we're voting for anything that is important for NYC compared to the midterm and presidential elections.

I’d like to know. I updated my party affiliation from Independent to Republican and just moved. If there is nothing going on, I’ll wait until the following year.

Public Advocate is on the ballot and that may be the only citywide election. The incumbent democrat will be re-elected so why bother. There’s a ballot question for “ranked voting” where you rank your top five candidates in some city elections. There’s probably a way that method can be abused and it seems like somebody is trying to pull a fast one here so I’m voting no on that.
