Guess people will need to find another place for hanging out all day sucking up free WiFi. Oh and to use bathroom!

I've only ordered from Starbucks once a week if I happened to pass by. The lockdown isn't what is hurting them, it's the people who work from home now do not get Starbucks anymore.

Says you! *LOL*

Every morning and though out day see a bee line to Starbucks as people stand in line on sidewalk (marked for social distance), to get their SB drink fix. This went on throughout entire lock down soon as SB reopened for curbside pick-up.

When you live in NYC, a six figures salary is middle class.

So much for Shultz's vision of imitating the Italian cafe culture.

That had been happening even before covid-19 hit.

Places once open until midnight on UES, started closing around 11pm or 10pm

And when I say "closed" by whatever PM I mean just that; they started throwing people out by 930pm, shutting things down, not letting people use restroom, and certain not making drinks.

Watched one night at an UES location when white "bro" got very indigent when arrived at store around 945 and was told they were "closed". But there were still people inside. Manager and workers told him those were "friends" or whatever of staff... He let her have it about "doing their jobs" instead of hanging out with their buddies... All this over some not so great coffee or drinks.

Think SB like many places these days doesn't want to pay OT; so stores close early enough for employees to clean and do whatever else they need to and clock out on time.

No biggie, that's 400 out of their 10,000 stores in the US and Canada. We'll still have plenty here in NYC. And frankly we have too many in some neighborhoods, and I've been wondering for a long time how the market can support that. There are three or four within a five-minute walk from my office, and two of them are actually on the same street.
