Outer-borough home sales remain relatively strong, particularly on Staten Island.

Who are these people??? Are they all trust fund kids and retirees, or do they not read up on what they're buying before they sign on the dotted line? As a parent of school aged kids, I'm beyond puzzled.

I sold in 6 days. It was so fast, I got nervous we would be homeless in the interim of finding a place in NJ.

Nice homes on the safe quiet east shore generally sell quickly. Homes in any safe quiet neighborhood in any borough generally sell quickly.

But I'm still amazed that new 2-family homes on SI sell in the $1M range.

International money from my experience, often dirty money. Pieces of this country have been getting sold off to outsiders since at least the mid 80s if not longer. Real estate is no different.

My idiot friend just bought one. $980,000. I spent less than half that 15 minutes away in NJ for a much bigger house.

Despite doomsayers NYC isn't going to crumble up and die because they don't like its policies. As this country moves further left it'll be a safe haven, as it always has been, for people to escape to. And it will always be a world renowned city.
