I see a lot of license plate readers all over the highways and bridges.
It also appears that the speed cams log ALL cars.
( I logged into my speed camera ticket And saw video footage that was already recording BEFORE my car came and was automatically displaying plate numbers, speed, lane etc).

Who has access to all this info?
It's for the $. They couldn't give two ****s about anything else.
Wow...you guys really ope up my eyes on the type of people are here. Airborne, I am especially surprise with your response consider you worked at NYPD before.
The reason they have camera to track all cars is to make sure people pay their fines. End of the story.

You're ok with that? And just so you know, it goes way beyond that. I've followed the license plate of a car many a time as it drove from Staten Island to the Bronx after being stolen by accessing the system on my department phone.
If you know the extent of the NYPD's surveillance capabilities, you might not be so accepting. All cops don't have to agree with what departments do.

In a way, yes, I am ok with that because when you try to catch a bad guy, and all they do is use cash and burner phone, is nearly impossible to hunt down those perp. I know what NYPD is capable of, but I believe officers use it for good use 99% of the time.
We might al be concern of how we are being tracked, but I think people generally willingly give up privacy when you trade for convenience.

Anyone else besides NYPD could use it?
