That's what I keep hearing. That Krispy Kreme only taste okay when piping hot otherwise, it's dreck compared to Dunkin. Dunkin's alright. Some donuts are better than others. I like the Boston Creme. Once a week is okay in my book. I get the a1c and glucose test annually and so far (knock on wood) so good.

Krispy Kreme works when hot, but it's still not that great.

I'm kind of curious about what people think are the best donuts in the city. Peter Pan, Dough, Fan Fan--any other highlights? Any place that is specifically good with french cruller?

KK beats Dunkin donuts, hot, cold, stale, pale, they've got the superior donut

Personally, I like Doughnut Plant. The carrot cake donut is AMAZING, and a few other ones I crave. Dough is ok, but I have to be in the mood for a "doughy" donut. KK is overly sweet and just too much for me. If you like lots of sugar then fine. I'd even tolerate a donut from Dunkin Donuts before KK, and Dunkin Donuts is pretty crappy. Those munchkins are decent though.

Prefer Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons to Krispy Kreme, personally. Peter Pan is my fave though.

The only Krispy Kreme I like is that plain glazed, it's a bit oily but has a nice puffy texture

If you want vegan donuts, Dunwell Donuts has decent ones.

I can’t understand how a horrible place like Dunkin Donuts won the hearts of New Yorkers over Krispy Kreme. Thank you so much Krispy Kreme for coming to NYC in full force

Thanks for the rec. That will be my first test taste. And trying more vegan baked goods is on my bucket list. My daily treks now have a mission.
