Krispy Kreme opened its first location in Queens, located at 22-02 31st St. in Astoria, on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

The new location on the corner of Ditmars and 31st Street is Krispy Kreme’s 11th location in New York City. The store offers dozens of sweet treats via in-shop ordering, mobile order pickup and delivery.

“With a full menu of delicious doughnuts — including our iconic original glazed doughnuts, as well as hot and cold beverages — we are thrilled to be in Queens, sweetening the lives of those in the borough and all who visit this wonderful community,” said Maria Rivera, chief operating officer, U.S. and Canada at Krispy Kreme.

There's a Krispy Kreme by me. I go there at least once every week. Their doughnuts are amazing, much better then Dunkin Donuts.

Figures. No real Queens native grew up with Crispy Creme, so this is catering to the white liberal transients new to Astoria from the midwest and CT, NJ.

Oh would you just shut it. Guess what your family moved from somewhere else too before they settled in Flushing.
I know plenty Born and raised Queens residents that LOVE Krispy Kreme.
Change happens my friend.. It's not the 50's anymore.

Yea, destroy everyone's healths with sugared out GMO's fried in GMO vegetable oils. Little do people realize that this is exactly why people are dying of COVID. But go ahead, carry on!

First Krispy cream opened in forest hills like 20 years ago. Wtf you talk about willis?!?!?

The location had the full fresh factory set up on public view. We went into sugar shock on a half dozen donuts. Got cavity too.

Anyway, DD, fresh bagels, ethnic pastrries rule nyc. That business will fail within a year.

There was a Krispy Kream by the LIC Janovic paint store in the 80s. They were all over back then but they all closed except for the one in Penn Station. I tried one. One was enough. Not a fan.

It's odd. They keep trying to make a dent in the northeast but get nowhere against Dunkin Donuts. There are 2 Dunkin Donuts within a few blocks of my apartment . They are everywhere.
Krispy Kremes open and close, pop up here and there briefly then disappear again. It's weird. They just won't take "no thanks" for an answer.

This could be their big marketing mistake. They keep trying to get a foothold in areas where most of the population grew up in the Northeast and have been going to Dunkin their whole lives.

Maybe they should try to build a base and open in areas where large parts of the population already have a preference for Krispy Kreme and fond memories of Krispy Kreme from visits to grandma's house down South. They haven't done their research. It's not a good strategy to try to get people to change life long(or generational) habits.
