Tony Avella is not a progressive. He’s a common sense guy and if you ever needed action on a city service, his office was extremely responsive. He was my state senator until John Liu defeated him. Liu does nothing except once in awhile appear at a rally against anti-Asian hate crimes.

Tony is a good man and not a wack job liberal by any means, however under his watch at various levels the district has turned into 2/3/4 family mcmansions totally ruining the area. It's become so over crowded over the last 20 years, and with sketchy residents that otherwise wouldn't have been able to buy but can rent. That's on him!
Don't count Avella out just yet! There's statewide elections coming up in 2022, maybe he'll try to unset Liu or run for some other spot in Albany. Oh and 2022 is a congressional election year as well.....
Am not saying he'd win any of these races, but hope does spring eternal.....

Agree. Wouldn't shock me if he was getting money under the table.
