I agree, however the MTA workers were not subject to the vaccine mandate. (Or it was not enforced) They knew they could not just suspend those workers without having even more transit issues. So they went after already battered smaller companies. I wonder how many jobs got lost over it. Didnt see any number estimates. And the new mayor upheld it all.

How does the vaccine work? It prevents hospitalizations and deaths?

I know how vaccines work. Some provide full immunity (e.g. polio) and others like these Covid ones only work to lessen severity.

The issue is how many naive folks like you originally believed all the Democrat narrative that if a certain percentage of the population (70% was the original figure) was vaccinated, we were going to achieve herd immunity and everything was going to go back to normal.

Once we hit those figures and herd immunity didn’t happen, the goalposts were moved again. Now, it’s everyone needs to be vaccinated but clearly this vaccine does nothing to keep people from spreading, contracting and even getting sick from the virus.

It is a very lousy vaccine with possibly very serious side effects. Calling it a vaccine is an insult to other, more effective vaccines.

MTA did not fire anyone for being unvaccinated. There is no mandate to be vaccinated. The company has a Vax or test program. Nobody has been fired from that either, but non-compliant employees are suspended without pay if they fail to test. If you're too stupid to spit in a tube once a week when they let you do it on the clock at one of a thousand sites in the territory, then you deserve to lose the pay. They also notify every employee who misses and give them a chance to test before removing from service... anyone who got suspended intentionally ignored the order.

More than likely, there are employees who are legitimately sick or in quarantine status due to exposure.
