The actual job is in on mid Wall Street
Look in Brooklyn or NJ on the PATH train line. Commuting from upper Manhattan to Wall Street can be a pain.
Brooklyn is more interesting than Manhattan anyway - especially for young people.
"Brooklyn has become the hottest borough in New York City, growing much more rapidly than any other borough. Over the past decade, Brooklyn has transformed into the hottest, trendiest spot in the entire city.
This has caused an influx of young families, young professionals, hipsters, and artists to take up residence in neighborhoods like Park Slope, Bushwick and Williamsburg. "
Hoboken NJ is also a lively place to live. It's an easy ride into lower Manhattan on the PATH line.
"According to Niche.com, "Hoboken is a suburb of New York City with a population of 53,193. Hoboken is in Hudson County and is one of the best places to live in New Jersey. Living in Hoboken offers residents a dense urban feel and most residents rent their homes. In Hoboken there are a lot of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in Hoboken and residents tend to be liberal. The public schools in Hoboken are above average.""
What puzzles me is how can a job down by Wall Street pay only 65k. Maybe my standards are higher, that’s close to poverty in NYC. Prob take home about $3700.
If you're close to the 2/3 in Upper Manhattan, it's express to the Wall St. stop. 45 mins. to an hour, depending on where you start. But she could definitely use the PATH from JC/Hoboken for a manageable commute, too.
If she lives outside of NYC, she will avoid NYC income tax.
