You're the one that posted the picture of the fire, so that's what I commented on. I'm aware of the issues, I frequented the area for the majority of this pandemic.
As ONE example. Figures you'd only zone in on that one thing instead of the entire article.
Anybody familiar with the neighborhood knows that that corner wasn't the best - for years
How long are we going to downplay these issues. We can keep saying this was worse in 19__ or that this "has always been __".
There will be 300,000 mentally unhinged homeless rioting in the year 2130 and I bet someone will say "No big deal things were worse during the 2085 Civil War bombings which killed 100,000 people "
You also didnt say anything else about the rest of the article.
But I will say this:
The article mentioned one incident of a person with a machete. Another person with a blowtorch. You dont find the weapons of choice remotely odd?
Do I really need to write an essay on what a mess SoHo is? I thought one example was good enough to start a discussion. It's no different than those who claim that even the poorest today live better than royalty 200 years ago.
It's either an argument made dishonestly or the person is too dumb to realize what they're saying.
