I visited Best Buy in Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, New York, with my computer to see the Geek Squad, and after discussing my computer issues, I was told that the best way to handle it was to enroll for $217 plus yearly on their program, and that will cover all the computers I have, and bought after. So I agree to it.
I left my computer to be examined, and was called to come and pick it up two- days later. My computer is a very sturdy Hewett Packard, which I like a lot. I was told that it was fixed. A few days later, It was not longer working, like it used to, so I began to get messages from Microsoft/Windows 10 that I had 12 drivers in need of replacement. Never was told anything about this from Best Buy. Then, I took my other laptop computer because the desktop disappear, and will not go on. It was seen by the Squad and told that it could not be "fixed" because it need this and the other, and it was time consuming. I asked if they could void my contract with them, since I bought it at the end of October 2021, and was told that it was over 30 days old.
How would you have handled this, if you were in my position? And what can I do about it? Thank you,

1. When you first went to the store, you only brought your desktop? Not the laptop?
2. What did you tell them was wrong with the desktop?
3. When you say, it was no longer working like it used to, what exactly does that mean?
4. Updating your drivers doesn't mean that anything's wrong with your computer.
5. How old is your laptop?
6. What did GS say that the laptop needed?
7. Read the fine print before you sign a contract.

what exactly is the "217 plus yearly on their program"? What does it entail?
Also, what do you do on these computers/laptops?
I am partly blind in one eye, and the written information is made so small, that the salesman, told me v verbatim what was covered. According to Microsoft/windows there are monetary charges to upgrade them.
I use my computers to go to F/B, chat with my friends, learn about other countries and its people. Use You Tube, no games. And the same with the Laptop.

I brought in first the Hewett Packard, which is 8 years' old, and the Laptop, is seven years' old.
I do not know much about what is wrong with computers, more like they do not work correctly at times. They never told me what either computer needed. Just bring it back, if it acts up.

I have never back up the drivers for fear that I may do more harm than good. And since I really do not know what I am doing, is better to stay away from it.

Read this article when you have a chance and it will explain to you why you need to update your drivers:

Can you describe to us how the desktop and the laptop are both not working correctly? What's happening when they don't work?

Eight year old consumer computer products are at the end of their lifespan. It's like rebuilding the engine or transmission of a 15 year old car ... not worth your time nor money.
