What is the reason of even having them? Are these boys that thirsty for attention? Is this the guy version of being an attention *****? They are all over the Van Wyck and LIE in Queens. Also I hear them trying to be as loud as possible in Manhattan down the avenues. NYPD please fine these jerks.

Yes with a noise meter. However the amount of NYPD cops that have been qualified to use a noise meter are very few and far between. I don't think we had a single officer in my old command that was qualified to testify in court on that. I would say it is a DEP issue and not a NYPD issue.
Years ago Riverhead drag strip closed down leaving only Englishtown raceway to be the only option for people to drag race at. Well, Englishtown also closed down and that’s that.
Today’s youth is just too careless with much less regard for anyone else, a trend that has been in the making for some time now. Factor in that cars today make an awesome amount of horsepower and you have some fun cars with dildos behind the wheel all of the sudden.
Floyd Bennett should have been used as a drag strip or racing circuit. But no, the idea is too progressive even for progressives. I mean get kids off the street and have them race in controlled environment??? Noooo. Why would anyone do that.
NYC needs a car racetrack. It would make a killing.
They’d need to charge a lot because it’s a seasonal recreation. Unless they operate in the wintry conditions and clear the lanes…but doubtful. Also the insurance would be expensive af. It’s a nice idea though.

They'll just pass the costs onto the consumer, and the ones that could afford it would pay for it. I presume that car-racing as a hobby is not cheap to begin with (gas, modifications, maintenance, etc).
