That's what they did to the Canadian geese. Gathered them up, put them in cages to be culled. They were becoming a nuisance and acting aggressive plus something about them being a danger to aircrafts.

I was on the roof top of a building along the Hudson the moment that plane went down.
The story was splattered across all media of the hero pilot saving all passengers.
I knew then and there it was a bird strike after hearing ( I'll never forget ) the screams
of what I thought were ducks being massacred only to find they were geese being sucked
into the jet engine which led to the plane failure.
Sometimes birds and planes have flight patterns that unfortunately cross.
