The tech sector is a field that people get paid crazy amounts to do minimal and stress-free work (assuming you’re good at what you do). My coworkers and I make 6-figures just to sit at home comfortably and attend to ticket requests from our colleagues.
If most people knew how much I make they’d say “you make $X/hr. for what??”
This is Apple we’re talking about…it’s not like they’re broke. Inflation and cost of living is rising but you have no problem with that wages haven’t risen as equally.
Apple workers have to be product experts, salespersons, IT specialists, in one and it’s not a remote job. In 2022 it is not unreasonable to ask for that amount considering once again, I know a guy making $130K/yr just to do at most 3 hours of work a day (sometimes even less).

Employers certainly have a right to pay what they like- but if you're saying the baseline should be that some tech workers with specialized knowledge get paid $130K to work 3 hours daily- then the vast majority of hard working labor in person jobs would basically need $100K raises over night.
Employers can reduce pay until a bucket of suitable employees has been found.
It sounds as if the tech industry is overpaying and seemingly not searching at the moment to cut costs.

LOL If they were truly product experts, salespersons, etc., then I wouldn't have a problem, but the ones I've interacted with couldn't even get me checked out with my products. They weren't doing anything for me but giving me what I already selected (on my own) and was coming to pick-up. In other words, customers aren't necessarily getting expert services right now. If the advice is for people to get a new device for something that can be fixed by real experts, then I don't see the point.

I only frown upon it based on my experiences at Apple stores. The people I dealt with were hardly "experts" and merely order takes and couldn't even do that properly. Now if getting paid $30 an hour means I will actually be in and out for simple pick-ups, then fine, but I've had nothing but headaches for very simple pick-up orders. In other words, I expect better customer service for higher pay.
