hi iam a doctor about to start residency in our lady of mercy medical centre bronx. my wife is doing voluntary work in maimonides medical centre brooklyn. my annual income is 51K. i will be starting my residency on june 23. my work starts as early as 6 AM. my wifes work will be from 9 AM to 5PM. we dont have kids. basically we are looking for a place to live which will be easy to commute to our work. we prefer to keep our commuting time to around 45 minute to 1 hour. also the safety of the area is of prime importance. iam willing to spend upto 1800 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment. could anybody please suggest areas to live which will be suitable for both of us. any inputs given will be appreciated. thank you

Hi,
Do you know if the Hospital(Lady of mercy) has a residency building. Or some type of housing???
Are you going to have a car???
remember about the 40X limite.. you are going to be making 51k that means with your salary along you can pay upto 1,275.
I dont know how much your wife is going to be making.
But to be honests I really dont know where you should live...
I mean almost everything(subway and busses) are going to Manhattan.
