Of course, if you're a net taker in taxpayer dollars like 50% of the city's welfare class, you probably don't care as long as it doesn't eat I to your welfare money.

For everyone else, that's a little over $66,000 per migrant for this year alone.

New York City will spend between $500 million and $1 billion to temporarily house the influx of more than 15,000 asylum seekers from Central and South America who have arrived in the city in recent months, according to the city Comptroller.

Those costs represent only a short-term estimate for this year — an expense the city hadn’t previously budgeted for, Comptroller Brad Lander said in an interview with Bloomberg News on Friday. A controversial new tent in the Bronx that is meant to open next week and serve as temporary housing for migrants will cost $150 million alone, he said.

Blame the republicans who sent them here . Maybe they can pay the tab. It actually makes a lot of sense as to why they send them here now…

Oh, "it actually makes a lot of sense" now? Was it that difficult to deduce that providing shelter, food, and medical care (at a minimum) would be expensive?

How is this any different than the permanent welfare class in NYC? Who do you think is "paying he tab" for them?

That right there would be rich lol. Thankfully the border states civilians voted this in. They are tired of it, and are putting sanctuary cities where their mouth is.
Deblasio started this all before Adams. Now the breakfast tacos are coming home to roost

New York's total budget for fiscal '23 comes in at $101 billion:

https://www.cityandstateny.com/polic...umbers/368059/

So the amount spent, if accurate, is less than 1% of the total city budget.

Quit yer whinin' !

I see we're numerically illiterate if you believe that 1% discretionary spending in a $100 billion budget that isn't built in is not significant.

How about we cut $1 billion from Medicaid or NYCHA?

City should sell some parks to developers for apartments which will generate short term cash for this. And also provide more housing. Win win.

Parks shouldn’t matter during a crisis like this.

Or put a 100 percent city tax on the subway fares to generate quick money to help alleviate this.
