Just heard about this recently. Pretty wild that Marjorie has been in the news saying no to upzoning and did a 360 at the last minute. I know people in Throggs Neck that are flooded every time it rains and it could be even worse if this plan succeeds.
She hoodwinked them is all that is. They shouldn’t have voted for a Democrat if that was their concern. Democrats want to bring in more apartment buildings into neighborhoods that are predominantly single family homes because they want to bring more black and brown people there.
Making way for the poor and pushing the working class out...
Sounds like Housing Projects on a whole other level.
Has anyone ever wondered why Projects for the last 70 years have always been localized and confined and then heavily policed ?
This was and now will become Containment on a larger scale.
Expansion from sections of neighborhoods to now ( it looks like ) entire Cities.
The poor have to go somewhere................and they will be dumped everywhere.
Police will be gone and the water ways, interstates, forested areas and bridges will serve as the policing and barrier walls.
Creating jobs and opportunities would have been money better spent..............but this is how this political party operates.
Warriors .....come out and play........................

That and they want to bust areas that have historically voted Republican.
"Velasquez’s support is an about-face on her previous stance on the plan, which would pave the way for taller structures along Bruckner Boulevard. The area has been characterized by privately owned one and two-family homes."
There are a couple of coops along Bruckner, between White Plains Road and Castle Hill Avenue. But that's not Throggs Neck.
As for Throggs Neck, how much will that diminish the quality of life in that neighborhood, v. how much the nightlife-causing traffic along East Tremont Avenue.....?
The Bronx just lost one of it’s last safe middle-class neighborhoods. NYC should not be waging war on middle-class neighborhoods and on middle-class homeowners, and Velasquez shouldn’t be part of it. Why is she siding with those who want to destroy a neighborhood of homeowners? Because she is another hard core radical.

This is technically in Schulyerville, in the greater Throggs Neck area. Bruckner Blvd and Logan Av. It's the Super Foodtown of Throggs Neck.
