Lived on Austin for a few years a while back, loved Kew Gardens and the vibe. How is it doing these days with some of the crime they have on the island

Doing great, nice stores, shops, restaurants in the area.

More people in the area these days as well . You should probably go back and visit to see for yourself

It's a suburban neighborhood. Things don't change much except for maybe the residents. One of the plusses of being a suburban type neighborhood in NYC.

Kew Gardens is doing very well, despite a few pandemic-related closures, places like Cipollina's and Austin Ale House are still going strong.

Here is a website for some Kew Gardens-related information:

Life long Queens native. I'd say its reputation still holds up...but that's relative these days. Crime has hit EVERY neighborhood. Even Kew Gardens. Below links are just some of the recent alarming incidents one should be aware of before moving into the area. Bte, Kew Gardens is not the "island." Not even close.

One of the safer places in New York City.
A little pricey but O.K.
Frequented by many contributing walks of life.
Tough parking. Austin my favorite and at Metropolitan ave.
